A milestone on the path to climate neutrality
We are proud to announce that, since January 2026, our entire electricity requirement has been sourced from certified renewable energy. In doing so, we are sending a clear signal in support of climate protection and making a measurable contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in production.
What does this mean in concrete terms?
Compared to the German electricity mix, this switch results in an annual saving of 834.4 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. To put this figure into perspective, here are a few comparisons:
The annual CO2 saving is equivalent to:
- 181 cars taken off the road for a year
- 37,927 newly planted trees (based on their annual CO2 absorption)
- The electricity supply for 800 German households for a whole year
- 695 round-trip flights between Berlin and Barcelona avoided
- 352,068 litres of petrol saved
- A reduction of 5.6 million kilometres in car journeys
These figures clearly show that switching to green electricity has a real impact on your carbon footprint.
Transparency and Responsibility
The green electricity is verified by an official certificate from the energy supplier, which can be viewed here . Transparency is important – because it is the only way to credibly demonstrate that sustainability goals are taken seriously.
The switch to green electricity is an important step, but not the end point. Climate neutrality can only be achieved through a series of successive measures. That is why we are continuously working on further improvements – from energy efficiency in production processes to the sustainable design of the entire supply chain.
Outlook
This milestone serves as an incentive to continue striving for constant improvement in all areas of sustainability. In this way, we can continue to make a significant contribution to climate protection in the future. Updates on further progress and measures are provided regularly.
